Anna Kei Black-Hogins

My name is Anna Kei Black-Hogins. I am sixteen years old, currently attending Fremont High School as a sophomore. I’ve done swimming since I was little, and tennis for a few years. I was the 2010 girls varsity tennis team captain and also on the swim team. Music has been in my life since the beginning, with piano, singing, and now guitar as well. In school, I am part on sophomore cabinet, in National Honors Society, California Scholarship Federation, Key Club, Animal Protection Club and Best Buddies. Some of my hobbies include traveling, community service, leadership, learning languages and biking. Since the summer of 2010, I have been a lifeguard and a swim instructor. I enjoy working with kids and plan on doing something related to kids in the future. When I was eleven, I got a few of my neighbors to participate and directed a musical to raise money for kidsSTRONG, an organization improving the lives of children who have cancer. I realized you can be any age and fundraise any amount of money, and you will create an impact on someone no matter what. I want to be able to make a difference on people’s lives with the time and effort I will put into Relay for Life. At the end of the day, knowing that you made a difference by helping someone out is the best reward you could ever get.
